Founded in 2003 by business partners Rick Wasem and Lynn DeVleming, Basalt Winery is an idyllic Port Fairy vineyard for intimate weddings. On top of serving award-winning wines, after you announce I DO, you’ll feast on delicious in-house catering which highlights seasonal ingredients, all while in a sophisticated wedding reception venue, the cellar door.

Basalt is an outdoor venue but does enforce a strict noise curfew and last call due to neighbouring residential properties. This also means the winery will only allow music at a regulated level through the evening, and cannot support receptions with a DJ due to technical requirements and noise concerns. This venue will provide thirty-six chairs for your ceremony but will direct couples to their list of preferred vendors for decor or marquee rental.

With seating up to 250 people and a newly renovated interior, the space is a Warrnambool wedding venue that exceeds expectations. Menu packages are available on-site which can also include beverages and chairs with coverings and sashes plus, white linens. 

The Carmichael on Kramer is only a six-minute drive from Warrnambool Retreat, making it easily accessible and a central venue. The Carmichael on Kramer requires a minimum booking of 50 guests, and payment in full is required three days before the event. Decorations will be the responsibility of the couple and confetti is not permitted on the premises. As everything must be pre-approved by management before coming on-site, please be advised that rice, glitter, or table scatters will likely incur an additional cleaning charge.

The Warrnambool Botanical Garden is another historic location that is beautiful and carefully maintained. To secure this venue you will need to apply for a public permit, and we recommend consulting the Warrnambool Botanical Gardens Request Form to ensure there are no surprises the day of. 

The Warrnambool Botanical Gardens are a public space and will still be open to the public on the day of your event. The earlier you request access to a designated space, the easier your life will be!
