When you travel, do you search for activities that connect you with the local community? The Fresh Market is the perfect small dose of Warrnambool hospitality and a must-do experience on your next family escape. Warrnambool Retreat is less than a five-minute drive from the market, and we encourage all our guests to spend a couple of hours exploring the luscious and eclectic grounds. Plan to stay on the first or third weekend of the month, and The Fresh Market, or Warrnambool’s Sunday ‘Market by the sea’, will dazzle you all while bringing together locals and tourists from the finer folds of our Warrnambool community. This long-standing melodic event has various options, but we’ve selected our favorite vendors to curate your potential upcoming visit.

Maximise Joy And Connect With Local Love At The Fresh Market In Warrnambool.

Many residents of Warrnambool use The Sunday Fresh Market as a chance to replenish their pantry and stock up on household bits and bobs. While the great team at Volcano Produce keeps the selection of produce overflowing, we like to grab a particular potato to start our Sunday. The tasty Twistto Warrnambool is the original Korean Twist potato, spiral cut, skewered, battered with a unique blend of flours, and finished with flavored salt. It is a heavenly combination of carbs, and the skewer makes it a walkable treat to explore more of The Fresh Market vendors' stalls.

Grab A Bunzz To Go

Chef Chelsea Ryan introduced her “bunzz” on August 6th, and they’re quickly becoming the talk of the town. Your mouth will water watching her make the sub in front of you, and with a rotating menu, each market might introduce you to a new favorite sub. We’re already partial to the chicken parma sub and are counting down the days until her next Sunday market stall. You can meet Chef Chelsea at The Fresh Market Sunday stall from 830 a.m. - to 1 p.m.

Going into their sixth year at The Fresh Market, bring a jar, or two home from Warrnambool community members, Mitch’s Preserves. This family-owned business based in South West Victoria only packs its preserves with the freshest ingredients plucked from their garden or other local providers. Expanding to provide preserves, pickles, jam, and many other charming candied fruits. From Quince to Strawberry and, our personal favorite, Spiced Pear paste, there's a flavor suitable for everyone.

What came first, the family or the egg? With Caravan Eggs, you’ll never have to know! Starting in 2015, Warner’s had a simple mission, “produce truly free-range eggs on a sustainable model and supply them directly to the customer.” Almost a decade later and 800+ hens, we would say this goal has been cracked open! Meet the whole henhouse at The Fresh Market and bring home a couple of eggs to make a late-night Omelette, or bring the taste of Victoria back to your kitchen and re-tell the relaxing and tranquil highlights while serving the eggs deviled or poached!

Unpack The Local Love

When you reserve our Henna or Merri properties, you start the stay with a Local Loves Basket. We’ve handpicked seasonal offerings that we think elevate your weekend experience while leaving a lingering magic and curiosity. You can meet the vendors of our Local Love Basket at The Fresh Market, Warrnambool, Victoria, and learn more about their origins and catalog. Make sure to say hello to the minds behind Flockheart Sticky Chai, Keayang Marr Wines, and Bei Creative all while browsing fabulous mugs and other amazing gift ideas.

Raise A Toast With Babche Wines

Finish The Fresh Market Sunday experience with a bottle, or two of Babche Wines. Nikki & Tim are passionate about organic wines, made in a traditional methodology. They’ve only recently started having a stall at the market, but we know they’ll become a firm staple. Wander down and have a taste of the 2022 Babche Grenache or the 2022 Babche Sangiovese. Don’t forget, that Babche Wines believes in abundance, and you are encouraged to consider purchasing a mixed pack that highlights all three of their vino creations.
